Henrik, Daniel Sedin, Daniel Alfredsson, Roberto Luongo In HOF Class

The Hockey Hall of Fame welcomed forwards Henrik and Daniel Sedin, forward Daniel Alfredsson and goaltender Roberto Luongo into its 2022 induction class, the Hall announced on Monday.

Also included in the class, in the builders' category, were Finnish women's hockey icon Hanna-Riikka Sallinen and Herb Carnegie, a Canadian player of Jamaican descent who starred outside of the NHL. He is honored posthumously, having died in March 2012.

Cale Makar Awarded The Conn Smythe Trophy As MVP Of Playoffs

Cale Makar was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday.

Makar was voted the winner after he helped the Colorado Avalanche win the Stanley Cup for the first time since 2001. He finished with seven points (three goals, four assists) in the Final in the six-game victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Rangers' Igor Shesterkin Named NHL's Top Goaltender

Igor Shesterkin won the Vezina Trophy as the League's top goaltender, which is voted on by the NHL's general managers. The other finalists were runner-up choice Jacob Markstrom of the Calgary Flames and Juuse Saros of the Nashville Predators.

"It's a great honor for me to be here," Shesterkin said at the ceremony. "It's good to play for the New York Rangers, it's an incredible feeling."

Leafs' Auston Matthews Named NHL's Most Valuable Player

Toronto Maple Leafs star forward Auston Matthews collected the Hart Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player and the Ted Lindsay Award as the NHLPA's most outstanding player at the NHL Awards on Tuesday night.

Matthews, 24, scored 60 goals, leading the NHL for the second straight season. He set a Maple Leafs franchise record and the single-season record for most goals by an American-born player.

Sabres To Retire Ryan Miller's No. 30 Jersey Next Season

The Sabres are honoring their franchise goalie leader in wins and games played by retiring Ryan Miller's No. 30 jersey next season.

The team made the announcement by releasing a video Friday that showed Miller being informed of the honor while touring the Sabres' arena with his wife, mother, sister and two children.

Bergeron, 36, was named on 194 of 195 ballots submitted by the Professional Hockey Writers Association and placed first on 160 of those ballots.

Kopitar has been at the forefront of helping promote hockey in Southern California, where the center has spent 16 seasons with the Kings since being selected No. 11 in the 2005 NHL Draft.
